Advantage Engineers designed and provided construction drawings for a structural steel ballast base to support a temporary monopole with equipment for one wireless carrier located in Elwood, New Jersey.
The monopole in this application is a temporary installation, and removable. Therefore, rather than having a traditional permanent concrete foundation, concrete ballast blocks are placed on the structural steel ballasted base to resist the overturning movement on the monopole. Four removable ballast support arms extend outwards from a central base plate to form a cross shape. Each ballast arm was designed to support two stacks of thick concrete ballast blocks.
