A national wireless carrier reached out for assistance in improving DAS service for the Grand Opening of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, NJ, which was taking place the following day. We responded quickly, and after a 13-hour day of breaking down and repurposing equipment from the former casino’s network, we were able to greatly improve voice service as well as data coverage leveraging the old PCS donor service.

As our team was leaving that same night, we received another call from the customer requesting a temporary deployment to be up and running in the Hard Rock Live Arena for the Carrie Underwood concert the following evening. Utilizing equipment from a COLT (Cell On Light Truck) that was deployed but not yet on the air, we were able to find the needed RRHs, power and fiber cables.  Working  with our union electrician, we were able to get power from the building to the asset and wire up the RRHs to run Coax inside Hard Rock Live to the antennas on the catwalk for service.

The site required fiber backhaul, and our team figured out a way to use fiber running along the boardwalk to patch into a standby circuit that the carrier had in place for another performance hall and get service up and running in time for the concert.
