Advantage Engineers performed tower mapping, investigations, and analyses of nine County of Bucks owned radio towers. The communication towers are utilized for the County’s public safety network.
The County of Bucks desired to upgrade their public safety wireless network. Seven of the County owned towers required tower mapping and investigation services. This analysis was performed for all seven towers, including tower climbs to determine equipment in use and to designate old lines no longer needed. As part of the scope, Advantage Engineers performed the tower mapping and geotechnical services and partnered with Armor Tower to perform foundation mappings. The foundation mappings provided a necessary tower foundation analysis at three of the towers. Advantage Engineers also designed modification plans to reinforce failing towers at four locations. All structures were analyzed under the requirements of ANSI/TIA-222-G as a Class lll structure.
The project included:
- 1 Guyed Tower
- 1 Monopole
- 7 Self Support Towers
- Geotechnical investigations and foundation mappings for the purpose of tower foundation analysis
- Designed modification plans to reinforce failing towers
- Structures were analyzed under the requirements of ANSI/TIA-222-G as a Class III structure, including Twist and Sway checks for the proposed microwave dishes
